Title: SSS #4
Briones Regional Park is usually too hot this time of year, but the marine layer had socked in the Coast so we headed inland.
I'm still scratching poison oak. With its rolling, grassy hills and secluded, shady canyons, Briones is a secret wilderness surrounded by the towns of central Contra Costa County. Although the park is close to Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Concord, and Martinez, there are peaks within it from which you can see only park and watershed lands for miles in every direction. From Briones Peak, the highest point in the park, there are panoramic views of Mount Diablo and the Diablo Valley to the east, the Sacramento River and Delta to the north, the East Bay hills and Mt. Tamalpais to the west, and Las Trampas Regional Wilderness to the south.

Wonderful California Oak woodland. Don't we live in a beautiful state? Hopefully the regional park will be safe from the budget ax unlike our state parks.
Fabulous shadow shot! And, yes, California is a gorgeous state with so much natural beauty!
Have a great day!

Ouch! I hate poison oak but your shadowy view is familiar to THIS native Californian ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Through rusting shadows
and underbrush, we journey
with trepidation…
My Shadow Shots
Great shadow shot. I love to take photos of the shadows when I take walks in places of natural beauty.
That's an awesome shot. Very hot indeed. Pity grass turned into brown.
Have a nice day.
